Jungle Junction Fire Department, Victoria Falls 1948.

Self and five sixths of the department in the back end of the Fire boat. The missing sixth is taking the picture. Note the 'protective' clothing.

Morning fire drill on the Zambezi River, 1948.

Note the crew in their summer wear. Along this stretch of the river there is a noticeable difference between the two sides of it. On the southern side, the vegetation is distinctively tropical with dense bush and numerous M'gonga, or Ivory nut palm trees. The northern bank could be Richmond on Thames.
