John Sweatman passed away on 22nd January 2012 after a short but valiant battle with colon cancer. John arrived in Lusaka in 1979 to work as the Food and Beverage Manager at the Pamodzi Hotel. In 1982 he left the Pamodzi to open and run the Polo Grill at the polo club in Lusaka, from where many of you might remember him as an entertaining and generous host. The world will be a duller place without him. He is survived by his wife Sandra, two sons and two daughters.
